MNC Maleny Transition House Project – Brief description of Project:

Maleny Neighbourhood Centre (MNC) is all too aware of the housing needs of women and children at risk of homelessness or who are currently homeless.

MNC has found that assisting women to move into more stable housing can often take 2-3 months.

Over the last few years the MNC has worked in partnership with local individuals, organisations and businesses to test the viability of a community managed share house.

Goals of the Share House Maleny Project

To establish transitional accommodation in Maleny for women and children from Maleny and the surrounding area who need to move from unstable, over crowded, inappropriate, unaffordable and insecure accommodation into longer appropriate and physically secure housing.

This transitional Women’s House provides short to medium term transition housing.  We provide a ‘share house’, however it is NOT a women’s shelter for women fleeing domestic violence.
